COINCIDENTIA
“Coincidentia…2015” is the title of the work by Ferrariofreres hosted in the Church of the Congrega di Martinengo, as part of the group exhibition “Genius loci, dialogues between contemporary art and territory” during the Contemporary Art Day promoted by Amaci on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, 2015.
“Coincidentia…2015” is a video installation composed of two parts: one concerning the altar area with a set of five panels depicting the phases of a lunar eclipse, and a second, on the opposite side of the pulpit, projecting through a video the image of a white voice dazzled by light singing a sacred music piece. Upon closer inspection, the figure is composed of a female half and a male half: a female choir member and a male choir member who join their voices in a harmonious unity fixed by the union of opposites as a masculine and feminine principle, an act of pure creation reflected in the simulacrum of the eclipse displayed on the altar.
The exhibition “Genius loci, dialogues between contemporary art and territory,” organized by the Pro Loco Martinengo and the Artistic Circle “Natale Morzenti,” showcases the works of 5 artists (Italo Chiodi, Emanuele Dottori, Ferrariofreres, Clara Luiselli, Ezio Tribbia) in 5 different spaces (via De Agostini, Villa Ranghetti, Palazzo Ravanelli, Church of the Congrega, Filanda).
