PLATONIC YEAR

L’opera proposta posiziona il luogo attorno all’asse che passa dai centri di due composizioni installate su due opposte pareti.

Essere sull’asse significa possedere il centro , averlo al proprio interno e per l’edificio in questione, un’abitazione, è simbolico dello sguardo centrale che viene dato agli eventi.

Ogni edificio è sempre un punto privilegiato da cui osservare e partecipare ai cambiamenti, siano essi sociali, politici o economici e le due rappresentazioni della volta stellare vogliono fissare simbolicamente questo punto privilegiato d’osservazione e di partecipazione.

Sul piano di due pareti , preferibilmente opposte l’una all’altra, vengono fissate le due installazioni: una rappresenta la volta celeste boreale l’altra la volta celeste australe.

I punti principali dei due emisferi celesti sono il polo nord celeste e il polo sud celeste e vengono esaltati essendo i due punti d’orientamento per eccellenza. L’asse su cui si trova la scuola è dunque la linea che l’attraversa su una facciata αUrsae Minoris e sull’altra σOctantis rispettivamente le due stelle che nell’era attuale, quella dei pesci, coincidono con i poli celesti e sono state strumento d’orientamento per i naviganti dei due emisferi terrestri.

Le rappresentazioni della volta celeste si basano sulla variazione ciclica dei poli celesti dovuti al variare ciclico dell’inclinazione dell’asse terrestre dovuto alla precessione luni-solare. Queste variazioni sono il cammino tracciato dal movimento impercettibile dei poli celesti che avviene su periodi millenari . A ogni equinozio il sole sorge spostandosi in modo impercettibile in modo da attraversare una costellazione dello zodiaco ogni circa 2100 anni, questo movimento ci porta da un’era all’altra dai Pesci all’Acquario è l’attuale passaggio e un giro completo su tutto lo zodiaco volge in 25700 anni : un anno platonico.

The proposed artwork positions the space around the axis passing through the centers of two compositions installed on two opposite walls.

Being on the axis means possessing the center, having it within oneself, and for the building in question, a dwelling, it symbolizes the central perspective given to events.

Every building is always a privileged point from which to observe and participate in changes, be they social, political, or economic, and the two representations of the celestial vault aim to symbolically fix this privileged point of observation and participation.

On the plane of two walls, preferably opposite each other, the two installations are fixed: one represents the northern celestial vault, the other the southern celestial vault.

The main points of the two celestial hemispheres are the celestial north pole and the celestial south pole, and they are emphasized as the two orientation points par excellence. The axis on which the school is located is thus the line that crosses it on one facade αUrsae Minoris and on the other σOctantis, respectively the two stars which in the current era, that of the Pisces, coincide with the celestial poles and have been a navigation tool for navigators of the two terrestrial hemispheres.

The representations of the celestial vault are based on the cyclical variation of the celestial poles due to the cyclical variation of the inclination of the Earth’s axis due to lunisolar precession. These variations are the path traced by the imperceptible movement of the celestial poles that occurs over millennia. At each equinox, the sun rises, imperceptibly shifting to cross a zodiacal constellation every approximately 2100 years; this movement takes us from one era to another, from Pisces to Aquarius, which is the current transition, and a complete tour of the entire zodiac lasts for 25700 years: a Platonic year.
